Weekend Forecast: More Whiteouts

The patience of storm sufferers in the CNY snowbelt continues to be sorely tested. The unending lake effect snow is now forecast to continue into early next week.


People in and around Oswego are comparing it, now, with a fierce storm some remember from 1972, and a blizzard that took on “storm of the century” proportions in 1966. Going much further back, this postcard shows the aftermath of a huge snowfall in 1911. Here’s today’s storm coverage in The New York Times .

On the State University at Oswego campus, it’s a novelty for some students from other parts of the state or the country. Nice to know, as you’ll see in the video, that some people are having fun with this. (It’s repetitive, but you may find the first couple of minutes worth watching.)
